March 25, 1955 — April 11, 2017

Zona Kay Harrison, age 62, of Sherwood, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Hospice Home Care in Little Rock after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Ashland City, Tennessee on March 25, 1955.

Her passions included her only granddaughter, Brooklyn, and all of her beloved nephews and nieces, which she prided herself in acknowledging each's birthday and milestone with a card, gift, and/or a phone call. She loved to cook, bake, and travel abroad. Her baking skills made her treats a coveted prize. She also enjoyed fishing, which she spent many hours doing at home on her pond.

She was preceded in death by her father, Willie Hugh Dowlen and both maternal and paternal grandparents.

Survivors include her soul mate and husband, John Harrison of Sherwood; one daughter, Carly Durard of Springfield, Tennessee; her granddaughter, Brooklyn Jo Finch; mother, Zona Mae Hooper Lyons; two sisters, Callie Johnson and husband, David of Pleasant View, Tennessee and Gaynelle "Joy" Hatch of Ashland City; two brothers, Hugh Dowlen Jr. and George Dowlen, both of Ashland City; five nephews and three nieces, Keith Williams of Paducah, Kentucky, Patricia Dougall and husband, Scott of Nashville, Tennessee, Robin Mimms-Prescott of Ashland City, Ronnie Dean Mimms Jr. and wife, Jennifer of Ashland City, Robert Mimms of Ashland City, Blake Minnis of Paducah, Ashley Hatch, and Christopher Dowlen and wife, Stephanie; other relatives and numerous friends. And let us not forget her fur babies, Ralph, Winston, and Molly, whom she adored and loved constantly.

Kay wished for no mourning in her passing, but for loved ones to celebrate her life with the closest of friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, her family asks that memorial contributions be made to The Hospice Promise Foundation c/o Hospice of Central Arkansas, 835 Central Avenue Ste. 301, Hot Springs, Arkansas 71901. All contributions are tax deductible.
