Walter Harlan

On Friday, May 28, 2021, Walter Dwight Harlan passed away at age 75. Dwight was born on July 20, 1945, in the Hackberry community outside Caraway, Arkansas. He grew up in the Bono community and was a graduate of Bono High School in 1963. After completing high school, Dwight enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he worked as an electronics technician on the U.S.S. Wright. Dwight owned his own television repair business in Jonesboro for 10 years. He was the general manager for Cablevision in the Little Rock area for 13 years. He spent 18 years working in both Argentina and Indonesia in the cable television industry. Dwight was known by many for his cliches and sayings, such as K.I.S.S. (keep it simple stupid) and Que Sera, Sera (whatever will be will be). He loved to watch Fox News and sit in his outdoor rocking chair. He had a love for Diet Pepsi, Ding Dongs, and Pink Snowballs. In his later years, he greatly enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Dwight was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Meda (Ragsdale) Harlan, and four siblings, Helen Cooper, Lloyd Harlan, Dorothy Penter, and Harold Harlan. He is survived by his wife, Linda Ross Harlan, and five children, Greg Harlan of Longview, TX, Jeff Harlan of Jonesboro, AR, Robin Harlan (Chris) Guile of Jonesboro AR, Amber Stroud (Mark) Jones of Alexander AR, and Jamie Stroud (John) Price of Bryant, AR. Dwight was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
