On April 2, 1962, Tony W. Guthrey, one of the most standup men ever, was born in Benton, Arkansas. Tony graduated from Brinkley High School. Sadly, Tony passed away on December 30, 2021, and now is with his parents and siblings in heaven. Tony was preceded in death by his mom (Mary) and dad (Oscar Dean); step-father Wayne Patterson; sister Brenda Riley, and brothers Franklin Dean Guthrey, Ronnie Joe Guthrey, and Roy Lynn Guthrey.
Tony was a gentle man, funny, smart, hard-working, and most importantly, a great husband to Duana Guthrey (Newton). Tony served in the U.S. Army, receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1988. As we all know, Tony and his mom were super Razorbacks fans and they are now in heaven rooting them on together. Tony loved working at Remington and working in his yard. As we all know, he had a very dry sense of humor. Tony was always thinking of others, he had a huge heart!
Tony will be missed and remembered by his loving wife Duana Guthrey (Newton); step-sons Jeremy Brannon, and Junior and Daniel Edwards; brother Troy Guthrey and sister-in-law Joyce Guthrey; sisters Sandra Clinton, Sheila Brittain, and Linda Hulse; bother-in-law Steve Hulse; sister-in-law Jeanette Guthrey; brother-in-law Woody Newton and sister-in-law Misty Newton and family, brother-in-law Duane Newton and sister-in-law Arlene Newton; many nieces and nephews, many friends, and co-workers. All dearly loved Tony.
