Steve Hickman

April 6, 1942 — October 17, 2015

Steve T. Hickman, born April 6th, 1942, at Blackton, Arkansas to the late Thomas and Opal Hickman. He grew up as a farmer in Blackton, worked at the Lion Service Station, served as a Clarendon Police Officer, was Assistant Manager for the Clarendon Water Department, owned Hickman’s Grocery Store, retired as Assistant Fire Chief from the Clarendon Fire Department after 46 years of service, retired from Shelter Insurance Agency, a Bail Bondsman for Monroe County, the Chairman of the Board for the Clarendon Housing Authority, a member and Sunday School Teacher at the First United Methodist Church of Clarendon, and an avid Crappie Fisherman.
At the age of 73, God called Steve home to be with him, Saturday morning, October 17th, 2015 at the Baptist Health Hospital in Stuttgart. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years Linda Hickman, son Michael T. Hickman and Denise of Pine Bluff, grandson Justin K. Hickman and Missi of Stuttgart, grandson Zachary D. Hickman and Kim of El Dorado, granddaughter Casey M. Hickman of Pine Bluff, grandson Cody W. Hickman of Pine Bluff, two great-granddaughters Jurnee & Marlee Hickman of Stuttgart, three brothers: Wayne Hickman and Jay of North Little Rock, Terry Hickman and late Ginger Hickman of Clarendon, Christopher Hickman of Haughton, Louisiana, two sisters: Earlene Jones and late Bill Jones of Arvin, California, and Shiron Cox and Sherman of Clarendon. Visitation will be from 12-1:30 p.m., Thursday, October 22, 2015, at Clarendon First United Methodist Church, with Graveside Service to follow at 2 p.m. at Shady Grove Cemetery, in Clarendon, Arkansas. Services entrusted to Arkansas Cremation. Guests may register at www.arkansascremation.com.
