Watching a wonderful man die from an insidious disease that steals the very breath from its victims is horrible. Paul Lawson, 67, died at his home surrounded by family on October 27, 2015, from pulmonary fibrosis. He was a good man and he made me a better person. The world and our lives were better because of him. He is survived by me, Lisa, his wife of 49 years, our son Scott, our grandson Nathan, his brother Gary Davis and his wife Nelda, two very special honorary grandkids; Makenna and Nash, their parents Brent and Denise Whittington, and Tyson the Pug, whom he dearly loved. He loved his brother’s boys, Brad, Brian and Josh.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Deleane (Roper) Hardin, and his grandparents.
He loved spending time on the sandbar on the Arkansas River with a group of friends, the "River Rats", who were very special to him.
He cherished our time at the beach with my family – sister; Rita, brother; Jimmy, special nephews; Bruce and his wife Karen, Randy and his wife Jennifer. We will miss those special times together.
A huge thank you to Arkansas Hospice, Tiffany, Jeanette, Deborah and Kevin, for helping me keep him at home. Friends and family are invited to our home on Friday, October 30, 2015, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to share memories and toast his life.
