Michael Mike Lee Lakin, 58, of East End, Ar. left us to be with Jesus Christ on Saturday, December 29, 2012. He was born November 25, 1954, in North Little Rock, Ark. Mike was a member of Lifeline Baptist Church. In addition to his family and friends, he loved his work as a manufactured home salesman and Razorback sports. No matter if it was playing a board game, on the court, field, or on the sale lot - Mike was a competitor in every aspect of life. His final victory came Saturday when he defeated leukemia that he battled for over 26 years. Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Emma Frances Smith Lakin. He is survived by his loving and caring wife, Cheryl Cook Lakin; his children, Karen Hatcher Lance of Little Rock, Ar. and Mike Colvin of Little Rock, Ar.; his grandchildren, Gage Perciful of Benton, Ar. and Ryan Colvin of Bryant, Ar.; his parents, Bill and Lou Lakin of Mabelvale, Ar.; his brothers Kent Linda Hardy of Little Rock, Ar., Jeff Lisa Lakin of Ringgold, Ga., Kevin Deanna Hardy of Talala, Ok., Mikey Kari Lakin of Romance, Ar.; his sisters Susan Mark Griffin of Benton, Ar., and Karen Mike Keys of Pocahontas, Ar.; his brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Jerry and Dianna Cook of East End, Ar., and Ron and Barbara Pitts of Hensley, Ar.; his nieces and nephews Amy Griffin, England, Ar., Daniel Griffin Ashley of North Little Rock, Ar., Ben Griffin of Benton, Ar., Christy Loveless Marty of Ringgold, Ga., Jarrett Lakin Pricilla of Chattanooga, Tn., Joshua Lakin of Chattanooga, Tn., Alyssa Lakin of Ringgold, Ga., Ashley Hardy of Austin, Tx., Lance Keys of Naval Base in Groton, Ct., Breanna Hardy of Talala, Ok., Easton Lakin of Romance, Ar., and Weston Lakin of Romance, Ar., Michele Webb Darin of Cabot, Ar., Cristy Shannon Rick of East End, Ar., Paige Harrington Jason of Little Rock, Ar., Gary Clay Sharon of Paragould, Ar. He is also survived by his aunt Fredine Price of Wellston, Ok. and uncle J.W. Carole Smith of Pine Bluff, Ar. and numerous cousins and friends. A memorial service officiated by Rev. Jeff Dial will be held on Friday, January 4, 2013 at Lifeline Baptist Church, Little Rock, Ark. at 2:00 p.m. with a time of visitation at 1:00 p.m. before the service at the church. A family graveside service led by his brother, Rev. Jeff Lakin, will follow at the Salem Cemetery in the East End community.
