MICHAEL EDWARD ZUKOSKI passed from this earth on May 11, 2021, at UAMS in Little Rock, Arkansas. The Angels of Light came with their loving presence and whispered, "Time to go home, Michael.” He was born March 7, 1954, Plainfield, N.J., to Roberta and George Zukoski.
Michael accomplished much throughout his 67 years. He first served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Later, he honed his education at UALR and practiced as a construction engineer and skilled artist in the field of woodworking around Greater Pulaski County.
He also owned and operated Crystal Hill Liquor in North Little Rock for many years. As a gourmet cook, on holidays and special occasions, he loved to spend time with family. He was also a proud and excellent ballroom dancer and liked gliding around the beautiful dance floor he helped build as he especially enjoyed the quickstep, waltz and foxtrot at BLS Dance Club. Michael's early spiritual background included his Catholic upbringing. He later joined Second Presbyterian Church in L.R. He worshiped and ushered at the Church and was happy to remodel the Church's kitchens, library and create specialty wood items there and elsewhere. He was known to give hundreds of work hours building and helping families who yearned for affordable housing. That included serving on the Board of Directors, Habitat for Humanity.
Michael now goes to join his mother, father, and a host of friends and family in Heaven.
Yet, we know he sadly leaves behind his step-daughter, Donya Dees, sweet granddaughter and the two loves of his life, Savannah Nicole Dees-Buffenbarger, and very special K-9 friend to the end, Carter Couture Zukoski, all of Little Rock. He is also survived by his former wife, Cheryl Dees; three sisters, Lynn Sheats (Kevin), South Plainfield, N.J.; Robin Lakomiak (Cas) and Michelle Guth (Tom), Bethlehem, PA, along with a list of loyal friends, nieces & nephews. No formal service is planned at this time in Arkansas, but interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Basking Ridge, N.J. Tributes to Michael would be appreciated by your passing along some small store of pity to relieve another's pain or by the donation, in his memory, of kindness to someone in need.
May the powerful Grace of God and The Holy Mother, which travel beyond our worldly perceptions, walk with him always. Godspeed and rock on, Pepaw! You are loved.
