Melisa Mitchell

February 6, 1982 — June 11, 2017

Melisa Ann Mitchell, age 35, of North Little Rock went home to be with the Lord Sunday June 11, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Twenty-nine Palms, CA on February 6, 1982. At the age of eight Lawrence, KS became her new home. She formed lifelong friendships there before moving to Little Rock, AR where she started a family. Reggie was her first born, and her first love. But it was after meeting Marcus and having two more children Matthew and Mercedes, that her family became complete. Her family attended 8th Street Missionary Baptist Church, where her and her children were baptized. Her kids were her pride and joy.

Melisa always enjoyed the simple things in life including flowers, music, and sunsets. She danced to the beat of her own drum, always laughed out loud, walked in faith and loved with all her heart. She was a devoted mother, loving sister, daughter, daughter-in-law, niece, aunt and friend to so many. Although it seems her life on Earth was cut too short, she lived a fulfilling life. We are beyond proud of the strong woman she was, and she will live on in our hearts eternally.

Melisa was welcomed into heaven by Matthew Mitchell, Mable Boswell Mitchell and Linda Handy Lee.

Survivors include her children, Reggie Clemons, Matthew Mitchell, Mercedes Mitchell; her mother Dona Nelson; her brothers Walter Harvey, James Harvey, Gary Johnson; her sisters Sheila Hall, Michelle Harvey, Nicole Neely and LeighAnn Krische; and her nine nephews.

A time of visitation will be Thursday, June 22, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 pm in the chapel of Arkansas Cremation, 6400 Mabelvale Pike, Little Rock, AR (501-975-1002)
