On Thursday, June 24, 2021, at 7:21 p.m. in Sunshine, Arkansas, Mary Anne Ritchie, mother, daughter, sister, and friend to many, passed after a long-fought battle with Metastatic Breast Cancer. Choosing to leave with dignity and on her own terms, she drifted peacefully surrounded with love, and holding her son’s hand as she took her final breath at the age of 62.
Mary left this world having been predeceased by her mother, Ivey Inez Minnie Houseman, and father, Walter Andrew Ritchie.
She is survived by her greatest accomplishments in life, son, Raymond Robert Weger, daughter-in-law Angel Merrie Weger, and their two children. Candace Anne Ritchie, daughter, and her seven children. And Sarah Michelle Weger, daughter, and her child. Also survived by her brother Andrew Walter Ritchie.
Mary did not wish to have a ceremony. Instead, she requested that everyone take a moment, recall a good memory, and remember she is within each of us in a special way.
God looked around his garden
And found an empty place,
He then looked down upon the earth
And saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering
He knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb.
So he closed your weary eyelids
And whispered, ‘Peace bethine’.
It broke our hearts to lose you
But you didn’t go alone,
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.
