Luther Fulmer

September 20, 1949 — October 8, 2013

Luther Rowland Fulmer, of North Little Rock left this life on Tuesday, October 8th, 2013. He was loved, respected and cursed by relatives and friends alike. He ultimately passed as a result of being stubborn, refusing to follow doctors’ or anyone else for that matters orders. He lived life on his own terms. He was born on September 20, 1949 to O.B. and Louise Fulmer in Dermott, AR. Rowland spent many years as a contractor as well as working for the NLR Housing Authority. His last few years were spent with the Union Pacific Railroad. Although he always worked hard, he preferred to be at home or outdoors. To say he loved to hunt and fish would be an understatement. He lived to be out wetting a hook, or beside a campfire with his "kids" or his buddies. He touched the lives of many young people by sharing his knowledge and passion for the outdoors. He was as good at cooking his fish as he was at catching them. He took his final breath with his wife of 26 years, Mona, right by his side. He also leaves to treasure his memory, sons, Cort Fulmer of Texarkana, and Cade Fulmer of NLR, and an honorary son, Bryan Meyers of Russellville. He is also survived by his mother Louise Fulmer Thompson, his brothers Odus Larry Fulmer of Newark and Ramey Thompson of Oklahoma, son Michael Fulmer and daughter Ashley Fulmer of Texas. He is preceded in death by his father and his brother Thomas Ricky Fulmer. He leaves three grandchildren, three God-daughters, many nieces, nephews and friends to carry on his memory. A remembrance service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday October 19th at the Ashley – Alexander House, 3514 Walkers Corner Road, Scott, Arkansas. This will be a time that you may re-tell stories that he can no longer share. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Arkansas Game & Fish Foundation at 2 Natural Resources Drive, Little Rock AR 72205 or online at http://www.agff.org/donations.
