Lonnie Meeks, of Norman, Arkansas went to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 28, 2018.
He was born January 31, 1928 in Norman, Arkansas to Lee Monroe Meeks and Fannie Ellen (Greene) Meeks, as the 2nd of seven children. Lonnie was a loving husband and father.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Nancy Meeks, brother, Joe Meeks, sisters, Arlene Foshee and Ruby King, son Randy Meeks (Susan), son Bob Freeman (Becky), daughter Teri Lee, son David Lucero, Son Curtis Clark (Jess), daughter Lisa Williams, daughter Donna Clark, and son Richard Fountain (Donna), plus many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and family and friend who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Erbie Meeks, Jack Meeks, and Harley Meeks, and his daughters, Crystal Nieto and Cindy Suit.
Lonnie served in the United States Army and was a Veteran of World War II. He was a skilled mechanic, carpenter, and independent contractor. However, his passion was in music and he loved to play with his friends. He was always willing to help anyone in need. He loved his family and they loved him in return.
A graveside service will be held at McKinney Cemetery in Story, Arkansas at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2018. Services will be officiated by long-time friend, Bud Wilburn.
