Lawrence Benjamin Griffiths, ("Larry") passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2017. Larry was born on May 11, 1934 in Des Moines, Iowa to Mildred Benjamin and Randall David Griffiths. He was raised in Norwalk, Iowa and is a 1952 graduate of Norwalk High School.
After serving two years in the Army, Larry attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa and received a law degree in 1962.
In August, 1961 Larry married Jeanine Turner, also of Des Moines, and they were happily married for 51 years until her death. In July 1962 they moved to Kalona, Iowa, where Larry practiced law and they raised their family.
In 1978, Larry and his family moved to Greers Ferry, Arkansas where he was a real estate broker until retiring in 2006. He and his family were also active members of the Holiday Hills United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his sister, Marilyn Wilkerson, of Winterset, Iowa, and his four children: Shelley Griffiths of Corvallis, Oregon; Julie Jackson (Mike), and their daughters Grace, Mary Kate and Sarah, of Little Rock, Arkansas; Kent Griffiths (Trina) of Sherwood, Arkansas and their son, Bryar; and Craig Griffiths (Shannon) and their sons Trenton, Marcus and Jordan, of Plattsburgh, New York.
A service to celebrate Larry’s life will be at 2:00 p.m. December 21, 2017 at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church.
The family asks that instead of flowers memorials may be given to PHUMC St. Luke Learning Center, 4823 Woodlawn Dr., Little Rock, AR 72205
