Laverne Blackwell

Laverne Blackwell, age 96, of Little Rock, died Thursday March 3rd, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe, grandson Mike, and five brothers and sisters. Laverne is survived by sons Randal Blackwell and his wife Lynna of Siloam Springs, Arkansas and Buford Blackwell and his wife Annette of Little Rock, sisters Gladys Pope of Beebe, Arkansas and Midge Blair of Texas, seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Laverne was affectionally known by many as "Grandmother." A special thanks to Vickie Blackwell, Carolyn Jolley and Linda Pringle for their love and care. She was an active member of Oak Forest Methodist Church, Extension Homemakers Club, Chapter 2405 AARP and did volunteer work. Memorials may be made to Oak Forest Methodist Church, 2415 Fair Park Blvd., Little Rock, Arkansas 72204 A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 6th, 2011 at the church with Dr. Russ Breshears officiating.
