Mrs. Kay Butler, 75, Little Rock Ar. Celebration of Her Life Service will be at Little Rock Church, 10701 W. Baseline Rd. 11:00 am Saturday, Feb. 1st. By her favorite Pastor, Lynn Cook.
Kay was born July 16 1943 in Minot, North Dakota to Neil and Louis Crary, Neil was in cattle and dairy management. She is preceded in death by both parents and older brother Clay Crary and survived by her Husband of 35 years, Gary, one son CJ and is partner Hunter, younger sister Nancy Jones and her husband Mike, her Sister-in-law Kathryn and many many young souls who call her Mom.
Raised in the cattle and dairy industry, she loved all the animals she was around but especially horses telling stories of the mean Paint pony that her dad traded the Gypsies for and the many times he put her off.
The family moved to Conway Arkansas 1956 and she would graduate from Conway High School and soon went to Modeling School and started a modeling career then attended Beauty College and taught Hair Styling. She said that she went to Florida on a vacation and just stayed and managed a Budget Car Rental, soon after married Ted Mayhew, attended Sweetbrier College, was certified as a riding instructor and started Oak Hill Farm.
Kay always wanted to help everyone and saw that a Riding School was a great place to do that and was good at it. But after a bad car accident and a divorce moved back to Arkansas where, at a horse show, met the love of her life and soon married Gary and a year later gave birth to their perfect son, Clayton James.
Together, they put on many horse shows and were in the group that founded the Arkansas Horse Council and started Fox Creek Farm. After closing Fox Creek her health slowly began to deteriorate but she never stopped trying to help young women and young men and anyone she came in contact with. Multilevel Marketing companies, Reiki, Vitamin and nutrition anything she could learn and pass on to others, even in her last days she was passing out booklets to help others understand her condition and where she was headed and being a blessing to her Hospice nurses. Don't think of her as gone, just gone to ride that Paint pony.
