After battling multiple medical challenges with courage, strength and grace, Lewis Eugene Utley, Jr. passed quietly from this life into eternity January 13, 2018 at his home in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Gene was born April 22nd, 1960 to Lewis and Roberta Utley in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He later moved to Little Rock where he resided for the last 40 years.
A graduate of Nettleton High School, class of 1978, he attended University of Arkansas-Little Rock’s Pulaski Technical School. His professional career included, Stein Mart, Arkansas State Health Department and various charitable organizations.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Roberta Utley and one nephew, Gariel Evan Gordon. He is survived by two sisters, Rita (Utley) Gordon and husband Grayson of West Plains, Missouri, Linda Kay Utley of Jonesboro, Arkansas, one brother, Tim Utley and wife Gina of Atlanta, Texas and three adored nephews, Garen Gordon and wife Patricia, Grantland Utley and Reece Utley.
He was known for his painting and creative arts as well as his generosity and love of family.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, January 18th, 2018 at the Nettleton Baptist Church. The family will receive visitors from 4:00-5:00 p.m. with the memorial to begin immediately following.
