Johnnie Frets

July 20, 1929 — June 6, 2013

Johnnie "GeeGee" Frets, 83, of Conway and formerly of Biggers, AR., passed away Thursday, June 6, 2013. She was born July 20, 1929, in Corning, Arkansas, to the late Alma and Leon Williamson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lynn C. Frets. GeeGee enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, and playing the piano, and always had a faithful canine companion at her side when at home. She was also quite the bridge player and loved playing cards with her group in Pocahontas before she moved to Conway to be closer to her daughters. She received her degree from Mary Hardin Baylor College in Texas, and her master’s degree from A.S.U. in Jonesboro, Ar. She retired from teaching at Biggers-Reyno Elementary School. Her third graders were often treated on Halloween to an appearance from "Matilda," her supposed twin sister who handed out treats. Her unique personality and sense of humor endeared her to those who knew her. Those left behind to cherish her memory include her brother Bob Williamson and wife Nancy and family of Pocahontas; her son Dr. Robert Frets Diane of Seguin Texas; her daughter Susan Holtz Alvin of Greenbrier; her daughter Karen Terry Calvin of Conway; three grandchildren, Addie Reed Bryan of Seguin, Texas, Rob Frets Nicole of Bracketville, Texas, Kristen Gotcher Heath of Greenbrier, and six precious great grandchildren. Arrangements will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials and remembrances may be sent in her name to the Pocahontas Methodist Church, the Randolph County Humane Society, or the Faulkner County Humane Society.
