God has called another Angel home. It’s with great sadness the Scott family would like to inform friends of the passing of John L. Scott.
John was born in Pontiac, Michigan on September 13, 1951 to Charles H. Scott and Marian L. Scott. He graduated from Marion Abramson High School in New Orleans, LA in 1969. A short time later he moved to the Little Rock/Maumelle area where he remained until his passing. John made quite a name for himself in the custom car and van industry through his company Scott Custom Vans. He was known across the country and won many awards for his custom work. In 2004 he and his brother, David, started JCS Construction and built custom homes, and specialized in home and business renovations. He remained in the construction business until his passing.
John had a deep love for our Lord and Savior. He loved his church, New Life Church of N. Little Rock, and served in many capacities over the years. He loved, and was well loved in return by, his church family and friends.
John is survived by his brothers, Craig, Chris and David Scott, sisters Sue Greene and Judy Patty and their spouses Erika Scott, Carla Scott, Anjanette Scott, James Greene and Dave Patty, his step-children Cherie Gill, and Ricky Durough, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, LaNelda Scott, his father, Charles Scott, mother, Marian Scott, and his step-daughter Deborah Gill.
A Celebration of John’s life will be held at New Life Church of N. Little Rock on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 1:00 PM in the chapel. In lieu of flowers please make donations to New Life Church Dream Center.
John, you may be gone but will never be forgotten. You are in the arms of our Lord, and until we are together again, may you soar the heavens with your family and friends who passed before you.
