Jerry Gibb

Jerry Lyn Gibb, 64, passed away on April 23, 2017 at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. Born in Dover, Ohio to the late James Henry "Harry" Gibb and Alma Millocena "Millie" (Heston) Gibb, he was a 1972 graduate of Dover High School. While he had several careers and hobbies he had a strong love for music and was a member of several bands including the "Canton Kind" and "The Harvest Gold Band".

Having lived most of his life in Ohio, he longed to travel and see the rest of the world and recently had taken several long trips across the country. Jerry was a free spirit who forged his own path through life. His journey was filled with love, laughter, tears, endless repairs, music, with a few bittersweet moments along the way. His life was an adventure, filled with stories and memories that he shared with friends and strangers alike.

His love of life always left an indelible impression on everyone he met, and this passion for life lives on through those that knew him well and continue to pass on his stories and joy of life.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Millie; sister Margaret Ann Gibb Renner; ex-wife Carolyn Gibb; and daughter Jennifer Gibb.

Jerry is survived by his wife Gloria Gibb of Akron, Ohio; his brothers, Don (Nancy) Gibb of New Philadelphia, Ohio and Jim (Sandy) Gibb of Dover, Ohio; daughter, Andrea (Ryan) Long of Canton, Ohio; sons, Nathan (Holly) Gibb of Woodbridge, Virginia, Keith (Mary) Gibb of Sherwood, Arkansas, and Jeff Gibb of Canton, Ohio. Jerry also had step-children he considered to be his own children, daughters, Rachel Boyd; Kristina Gagovski; and son, Allan (April) Boyd of Bolivar.

The family will host a memorial in Jerry’s honor from 2pm to 6pm May 13, 2017 at the Grace Lutheran Outreach Center 208 N. Wooster Ave in Dover, Ohio.
