On October 30, Howard Allan Dishongh left this earth to work on his short game at the Heavenly Greens. He was born September 22, 1931 in Little Rock.
After attending Military School and Little Rock Central High School he joined the U S Marine Corp serving during the Korean Conflict as a Sergeant.
Fresh from the service he joined the Arkansas State Police and was assigned for a time to guard Gov. Orval Faubus and his family. He attended UALR Law School at night. He received his Juris Doctorate and passed the Arkansas Bar.
In the late 1960's, he was elected State Representative in the Legislature. During the next decade he was Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for the 17th Judicial District which included Lonoke, Monroe, Prairie and Arkansas Counties. For a while he served as assistant Prosecutor in Pulaski County. He was then elected Little Rock Municipal Judge. Allan served as a criminal lawyer, Prosecuting Attorney and Judge for over 40 years.
Judge Dishongh loved the game of golf and competing with friends. He was still working at the War Memorial Golf Course enjoying the comradery of his friends at the Pro Shop until the very end.
He was most appreciated for helping any and all who asked. He did not know how to say no.
