Elizabeth Franzetti

August 8, 1942 — May 2, 2020

Little Rock, Arkansas

Elizabeth (Betty) Franzetti, born August 8, 1942, passed from this world to eternal life on May 2, 2020. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Joe Franzetti, her children: Tony Franzetti, Chris Franzetti, Lisa Franzetti-Brothen (Glenn), and Jeff Franzetti (Tonya). She is also survived by her 14 beautiful grandchildren, her brother Jay Fredrich (Ce), sister Sue Enderlin (Amos), and sister-in-law Hope Hartz-Fredrich. She was preceded in death by her parents Gus and Barbara Fredrich, her sister Carolyn Fredrich, and her brother Phil Fredrich.

Betty is a graduate of St Edward grade school, Mount Saint Mary Academy high school, and was a devoted member of Christ the King Catholic Church (CTK) in Little Rock, AR. Betty was a beautiful person, both inside and out; her life was dedicated to her family, the church, and helping others. She was a woman of many talents, which she used to serve and provide
for both her family and those in her community. She loved to cook and used that talent in her role as leader of one of the “Our House” dinner teams, which provide and serve meals at the Our House Shelter in Little Rock. She was also a founding member and team leader of “Martha’s Meals”, a ministry which coordinates, provides, and serves the food for funeral receptions at CTK. Betty also loved to plant in her flower gardens; using that talent and love of gardening, she founded the “Garden Angels,” a group that is responsible for the care and maintenance of the flower beds on the church/office grounds.

Betty and Joe faithfully attended daily Mass; because of their service, dedication, and involvement in the church, Betty and Joe were voted CTK’s “Parishioners of the Year” in 2008.  Some additional ways Betty lent her time and talents to the church included: as an altar linen volunteer coordinator, a Eucharistic Minister, a sacristan for Sunday Mass, founding and leading the morning prayer group at daily mass, involvement in Sharefest and Rexfest, coordinating the parish directory, and assisting with the preparation for and communication of families during Honduras missions. Betty also served on the parish council, was co-leader of scripture study groups, taught Confirmation classes, assisted with Vacation Bible School, was on the founding school board and finance committee for CTK Elementary School, and worked as the Assistant Controller in the parish for 13 years. Her faith in God and dedication to the church were truly inspiring to her family and those around her.

After 21 years as a military wife and raising her 4 children, Betty was able to pursue her love of traveling. She and Joe made many trips together with friends or family to destinations such as Italy, Germany, Spain, Amsterdam, the Panama Canal, Alaska, Hawaii, Aruba, Cozumel, the Czech Republic, Ireland, and the Holy Land.

Betty was truly the heart of her family. She was a great wife and mother, who had a home-cooked meal on the table each night and always made sure her husband and kids were provided for. Her grandkids were her pride and joy and she spoke glowingly about all of them at every opportunity! She was a great friend to many people as well, particularly those in her domino, Bunko, and morning Chick-fil-A groups.  Betty will be deeply missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, family, and those closest to her.

Funeral services will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church on Thursday, May 7th at 2:00 pm; a rosary will be said prior to the service, beginning at 1:30 pm. If planning to attend, please wear a face mask and observe all social distancing guidelines currently in effect. Services will be followed by a private inurnment at the church columbarium. A Celebration of Life/Reception in Betty’s honor will be held at a later date.
