Anita Godfrey Ransom of Little Rock, AR, made her transition on December 24, 2016. She was born on November 21, 1928 in Paducah, Texas to the late Edith and Peter Everett Godfrey, Sr. Anita had a long and full life, filled with friends from all of the places that she lived. She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed visiting with family and friends. She loved to travel and to visit new places. She toured the New England countryside, the Smokey Mountains and even undertook a road trip to Alaska. One of her favorite places to go was Taos, New Mexico. She also traveled to Europe and to Russia.
Anita was a very creative person, who loved to sew, paint, and knit. Her daughter has many memories of Anita making dresses for her to wear to school. Her family has many hand-crafted items to enjoy that Anita made over the years.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Susan Ransom Shelnutt, her son-in-law, John Paul Shelnutt, her granddaughter Brooke Lindsay Shelnutt, her grandson John Harrison Shelnutt, her brother Peter Everett Godfrey, Jr, her niece Barbara Godfrey, her nephew Peter Everett Godfrey III and his wife, Shelly, and her cousin Jane Hughes.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to those cared for Anita during her last years of life, especially the nurses and staff at Foxridge Assisted Living, and Hospice Home Care. Their service and kindness are much appreciated.
Anita's life will be honored at a private memorial service in Little Rock.
