Thomas Maurice Murdock, 78, of Nella, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at Veterans Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born July 4, 1941 to William Boyd Murdock, Sr and Ruth Hester Murdock in Seabrook, Texas. He married Patricia “Pat” Duncan January 3, 1962 in Seabrook, Texas. He attended the University of Texas and University of Houston. He was a Hospital Corpsman Second Class in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era in the Cuban Crisis. He was a former Dallas, Texas Police Officer, a farmer and the founder of Tidbits Newspaper of Western Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Boyd Murdock, Jr; grandson Gabriel James Billy and nephew Kyle Larry Murdock. He is survived by his wife of 58 years: Pat; his children: Kelly Loraine Murdock Billy and husband Charley of Bozeman, Montana, son: William Bartlett “Bart” Murdock and wife Melissa of Benton, Arkansas; daughter: Sarah Elizabeth Murdock Davis and husband Shane of Parks, Arkansas and daughter Emily Murdock Parkhurst of Waldron, Arkansas; 10 grandchildren: Jordan Davis and wife Amber of Hackett, Arkansas; Courtney Davis Jett and husband Brad of Waldron; Bret, Caitlin, Braden and Meagan Murdock of Benton; Amy Parkhurst Morris and husband Brett of Waldron and Eric, Jared and Hallie Parkhurst of Waldron; 7 great grandchildren:Elijah, Ezra and Layah of Hackett; Kaitlin, Addalee and Westin Jett of Waldron;and Lauren Shores of Waldron.
Tom was a good, kind man and well loved and respected. He believed in helping his neighbors and was always willing to pitch in with any assistance needed. He will be missed by all.
