Stephen Surrette

Stephen Matthew Surrette passed away on Monday, August 31, 2015, after a sudden illness. He was born June 1, 1995, to Robin Raglin Surrette and Michael Lee Surrette, in Memphis, Tennessee. In addition to his parents, he is survived by the following family: brothers Michael and William; grandparents Gloria Surrette, Ralph Simmons and Jeri Raglin; stepmother Jo Lynne Varner. Stephen is also survived by his aunts and uncle, Ranee Crowe and Bill and Corinna Surrette; niece Zoe Surrette; and nephews Everett Surrette and John Robert “Sonny” Surrette. Stephen was preceded in death by his brother Jonathan Surrette and grandfathers William T. Surrette and J.C. Raglin. In addition to his family, Stephen was blessed with a host of friends.
Stephen was an avid skateboarder and known throughout skateboarding communities in Fayetteville, Little Rock, and Memphis. He loved showing off his skills to his family, sending videos and actually taking his grandmother to the skate park once. Stephen was a happy-go-lucky guy and made friends easily. He was a peacemaker and quick to offer help to anyone in need. His sweet, affectionate nature and kind spirit will be missed forever.
A celebration of Stephen’s life will take place Saturday, September 5, at 2:00 p.m., at Hillcrest Chapel, 4401 Woodlawn, Little Rock, Arkansas. Services entrusted to Arkansas Cremation. Guests may register at www.ArkansasCremation.com.
