Dwight Edward Larry, Sr was born April 6, 1945 to Mr. Willie and Betsy (Ingram) Larry in Warren, AR.
He moved to Little Rock, AR where he met and married his best friend and greatest opponent. He never walked away from a debate-but he never allowed himself to win one. Dwight was blessed with a large and loving family. He shared a unique relationship with his wife and a special bond with each of his children. It was the uniqueness of these relationships that fostered the most unique, yet sometimes embarrassing nicknames. To have been adorned with a nickname by Dwight was a sure sign of love and respect.
Dwight was a mechanic by trade but his love for "tinkering" on cars was what many in the neighborhood loved and admired about him. If your car needed a tune-up, he was there to help. But just remember "No Credit".
He loved to read his bible, spend time with family and friends laughing and wearing a smile on his face. He was an avid fisherman. He spent countless hours at the fishing holes. He even shared several memorable fishing excursions with his grandchildren. To hear their stories and see the gleam in their eyes-priceless.
He was a loving and caring person. He never met a stranger. He believed that everyone deserved to be greeted with a warm smile, and hello-"it cost nothing to speak". It was that philosophy that generated several lengthy conversations with those whom came in contact with him. To know him was to love him. No one who met Dwight Larry Sr. forgot his infectious passion for helping others. His many self-less acts of kindness gave him the title of devoted husband, honored father, and loyal friend. His commitment to feeding the neighborhood cats continues to speak to the beauty of his heart and soul.
Dwight departed this life to abide with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, January 19, 2016, in Hospice Home Care Inpatient Unit (Little Rock) with his family by his side at the age of 70. " Threescore years and ten"
Psalm 90:10
