Shannon, the beloved matriarch of our family left her earthly body on June 19 , 2024. This date happens to be Juneteenth, which is fitting because Shannon was deeply devoted to equality and instilled this value in her children. Shannon was surrounded by the love and devotion of her family as she passed.
Born December 6, 1950, Shannon entered this world with a sassy, enthusiastic spirit that would later inspire all who knew her. She was a woman whose kindness and generosity knew no bounds. Shannon poured her heart into nurturing and guiding her loved ones. She raised two children, Chad & Lizzie, instilling in them values of compassion, integrity, and perseverance.
Shannon was also a grandmother to Carson, Sierra, and Bryan who lovingly called her Shanna. Shannon is also survived by her devoted husband, David Legan who supported her throughout her journey with Lewy Body Dementia. Her love for her family was the foundation of her life and her presence brought warmth and safety to all those she loved.
Those who know Shannon know that she loved a good time! Music was the cornerstone of her life. I can imagine her now cruising down the road jamming to Steely Dan and Neil Young – the wind blowing through her hair, with a radiant smile on her face.
A celebration of life to honor and celebrate Shannon will be held at 3:00 pm on August 10, 2024 at Mesero in Dallas, TX [7775 Firefall Way #100, Dallas, TX 75230].
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association in honor of Shannon.
Although she may be physically gone from our sight Shannon's loving spirit and sacred memories will forever remain in our hearts. May she rest in divine peace, knowing she is so deeply loved and profoundly missed.
Because I’m still in love with you, I want to see you dance again, because I’m still in love with you on this Harvest Moon.” –
