Sandra Joy (Kelley) Allison

February 11, 1951 — April 8, 2025

North Little Rock, Arkansas

Sandra Joy Allison passed away peacefully at her home in North Little Rock on April 8th, at the age of 74, with her beloved family by her side. Born on February 11, 1951, in Forrest City, Arkansas, Sandra lived a life defined by compassion, strength, and a deep devotion to others.

Sandra began her career working at CARTI during their initial operation at St. Vincent’s in 1976 and became one of their first Cancer Registrars in 1984. She was also involved in CARTIs first Tux and Trees fundraiser in 1976, which has now been raising funds for cancer patients for over 40 years.

Sandra accomplished many things in her life, but she would always tell you that above all else, she was most proud of her four children, Jennifer, Jill, David and Judy. Family was so important to her, and she made sure the world knew it. If you knew her, you loved her. A close second to family and friends was her extreme love for animals.

Sandra met her husband David Werling late in life, but they wasted no time traveling and making the most of their years together. She was a beloved member of Faith Lutheran Church in Little Rock, Arkansas, where her spirit and kindness touched many.

Sandra is survived by her husband David Werling; her daughters Jennifer Kelley, Jill Allison, Judy Allen (John); her son David Allison (Rachel), and bonus children Christina Werling, Brian Werling, Katie Quattro, Susan Johnson, and Lauren Allison; her baby sisters Carolyn Roark (Rodney) and Lori Robertson (Gary); her grandchildren: Jeremiah Griffin (Bri), Haley Griffin (Kody), Ricky Nichols (Tori), Sierra Allison, Gracie Watkins, Aubrey Allison, Collins West, Joni Allen, Jack Allen. She also leaves behind many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, an uncle, and countless friends, including so many on Facebook that she needed two accounts. Among those closest to her was her lifelong friend of 54 years, Debbie Dabney.

Sandra's love extended to her beloved pets as well: her dogs Jazzy and Paris, cats Chopper and Christmas, and birds Cheeky and Banjo.

She is preceded in death by her parents and best friends, Joe and Margie Kelley, and her nephew, Rodney Blake Roark.

A memorial service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Little Rock, Arkansas on April 26th at 10 a.m.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Khalil and the staff at CARTI for taking such great care of Sandra throughout her treatment and final days.
