Sammy Carlyle Dockery died on January 17, 2025. He was born in Henderson, TN on August 16, 1947. He graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1965. He is predeceased by Nancy Barbaree Dockery (his late wife), Carlyle and June Dockery (his parents), and Pam Truman (his sister).
He is survived by his wife Diane Burton Dockery, his sisters Nell Owen (Randy) of Madison, AL and Susan Stotler (Gary) of Cabot, AR and stepsons Shawn McDougale (Angie), Neil Barbaree, Joel Barbaree (Brooke), and Justin Barbaree, 5 grand children, 4 great-grand children, and a host of friends and family.
Sammy served the Jefferson County Community for 40+ years, serving 23 years as a Police Officer for the City of Pine Bluff, earning the rank of Captain, and serving 18 years with the Metropolitan Emergency Communication Association (MECA/911).
Visitation will be 10:30-11:00 Saturday January 25, 2025 with Memorial Services to follow at Hardin Baptist Church at 300 Todd Lynn Drive, Whitehall, AR. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
