Ruby Hazel Burton, age 90, of McGehee, Arkansas passed away August 20, 2018 surrounded by her family.
Ruby was a Jehovah’s Witness and attended the Kingdom Hall at Dermott, Arkansas, as one of Jehovah’s witnesses, she loved the ministry and sharing her Bible based hope with everyone she met. She was baptized in 1972. Ruby enjoyed cooking. She will forever be known for her famous tamales that everyone enjoyed, especially Bill Clinton and his staff. Ruby had a huge heart and children drew to her. She just adopted them as her own and was referred to as "Momma Burton". Ruby was a snazzy dresser and loved vibrant colors and had a huge collection of shoes and purses. She loved traveling, decorating, upholstering, and singing.
Ruby is survived by her children; Mattie Stiff of McGehee, Joseph Burton, Jr. and wife Beatriz of Hot Springs, Mary Ann Burnley and husband Aaron of Wisconsin, Pearline Burton of McGehee, Roosevelt Burton and wife Helen of North Little Rock, Carl Burton of California, Marion "Sweet" Dillon and husband Warren of New York, Charles Burton and wife Marilyn "Candy" of Hot Springs Village, Kenny Burton and wife Cynthia of Little Rock, Russell Burton and wife Joia of Little Rock, Lisa Clark and husband David of Texas; thirty-six grandchildren; fifty-two great-grandchildren and one sister, Hatti Allen of Texas.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Burton, Sr.; four children, Barbara Blanckumcsee, Roy Burton and twins, James and Jimmy Burton; two sisters Bernice and Margie; two brothers Jack and Sylvester.
