Robert Smart

Robert Delward Smart, 87, of Mc Rae died on Monday November 17, 2014 at Springhill Baptist Hospital. Robert was born on March 29, 1927 to the late Jacob and Bertha (Bradley) Smart in Gunnison, MS.
After serving in the United States Army, he was a salesman for Helena Wholesales for thirty-five years and following his retirement there he went to work for Webb Packaging and Andrew Eggs. Robert was a member of the West Helena Baptist Church.
Robert was an avid coon hunter and longtime member of the Stephen Stock Mountain Curr Association. He was an animal lover and loyal razorback fan, but his greatest joy was his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Oscar and JW “Pete” Smart, one sister: Jessie Mae Darnell and son-n-law Jeff Traylor. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-nine years Jessielene Wells Smart; one daughter: Gayle (Chris) Akers of Cabot; one son: Michael (Cindy) Smart of Walls, MS; eight grandchildren: Cole and Reese Traylor, Laura Beth (Justin) Ward, Meghan and Tyler Smart, Tanner Smart, Sarah (Derek) Deaton and Jill Dawson; four Great-Grandchildren: Madalyn Hayes, Emery Smart, Addison Traylor and Harper and Ella Claire Deaton; one brother: Alfred “Buddy” (Dolly) Smart.
A memorial service will be Friday November 21, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Westbrook Funeral Home in Beebe, Arkansas with Brother Mack Davis officiating.
