Ricky McDonald was born on December 24, 1960 to Harry and Mary McDonald. He is survived by his father Harry McDonald of California, his three brothers Barry McDonald of Little Rock, Michael McDonald of Cabot, and Joeseph McDonald of North Little Rock, his daughter Cheryl Highfill of Ward, his son Ricky Allen McDonald of Oklahoma, his 6 grandchildren, Trey Legenbauer, Haylee McDonald, Jaiden Legenbauer, Daycen McDonald-Porter, Kenzie McDonald-Porter, & Braleigh McDonald-Porter, and 2 great grandchildren.
He was the man of many faces. He was very talented with his lifetime career of hanging siding, windows, and doors and could turn an ordinary home into your dream home. He always had a dream of opening up the first “mobile pawn shop” but his most and all time favorite past time was always music. He could play the guitar like no other. He could play the drums, keyboard, banjo, harmonica, etc.
As teenagers we were always embarrassed when our friends would come over because he would have all of us in the “band room” playing and singing. It’s funny now but it wasn’t back then.
TO MY CHILDREN:
Don’t think of me as gone away
my journey’s just begun,
life holds so many facets
this earth is only one.
Just think of me as resting
from the sorrows and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years.
Think of how I’m wishing that
you could know today
how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away.
And think of me as living
in the hearts of those I touched…
for nothing loved is ever lost
and I was loved so much.
