Randy William Coats

Randy William Coats of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, age 68, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 20th, 2023. He was born on March 19, 1956 in Eugene, Oregon to Thomas and Sally Coats.

He is preceded in death by his father Thomas Coats of Eugene, Oregon.

He is survived by his wife Kelly A. Ables Coats, his mother Sally Mae McDougle, his brothers Steve Coats and Alan Coats, his sons Cisco, Zach (Rachel) and Nick and their mother Annette Lee. He leaves behind two grandchildren Dylan and Livia Coats and many beloved family members, nieces and nephews.

Randy was raised in Marcola, Oregon. He attended Marcola High School in Marcola, OR. He joined the Army after high school from 1974 to 1978 which allowed him to train and serve in the 25 Infantry Division Soldier of the Quarter 1976, Individual Safety Award Recipient August 1977 with Honorable Discharge.

PFC Randy Coats, 68th Medical Detachment served as escort to the Commanding General in 1975 with complementary Letters of Appreciation, 25M Infantry Division.

He was proud to serve as Utility Helicopter & Air Craft Mechanic as well Crew Chief with the Huey MediVacs.

Randy retired from years of service in the chemical and transportation industry. He served Borden Chemical, Inc.as Production Superintendent in Eugene, Oregon. Later years he joined Sherman Brothers Trucking where he served as Fleet Manager & Director of Operations-Liquid Bulk Division in Harrisburg, OR. 2005-2012 and Terminal Manager/Director of Operations in El Dorado, Arkansas where he met his wife, Kelly.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Lead Pastor Dr. Denny Wright, Isabella and Coronado Golf Club and to the wonderful private care group Visiting Angels.

A celebration of Randy's life will be held at a later date.
