On February 4th, 2023 Priscilla (Ruth) Owens Youngblood died and went to heaven to join her beloved husband of 67 years, John Youngblood. Priscilla died in the comfort of her home surrounded by her daughters and lots of love.
Priscilla was born in Hemingway, South Carolina on April 10th, 1930 and was the epitome of a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend!! If you knew Priscilla, aka “Prissy”, then the best way to describe her would be that she was so very sweet. She had a sweet soul and sweet South Carolina southern charm and heartfelt hospitality. Her personality was loving and genuine. When you went into her home for example, she always offered some of her amazing home cooking and a listening ear. She was a mother/caregiver to the truest extent. Her biggest accomplishment in life was that of a mother!!
She dedicated her life to raising her three daughters and being a supportive wife to John. In her free time, she was an avid tennis player, amazing cook, dedicated member of Second Presbyterian church, and a member of Pleasant Valley Garden Club. She loved to trout fish at the White River in Mt. View, Arkansas with her husband John most of the time out fishing him!! Priscilla and John had the definition of a true love story. When John left this earth a year ago he took half her heart with him.
We were so blessed to have her here on earth before she was reunited with her beloved John. Priscilla and John were the loves of each other’s lives. Priscilla was the love of her children’s and grandchildren’s lives. She will be missed dearly. “God could not be everywhere and therefore mothers were made”. Priscilla was survived by daughters Denise Youngblood (Clifford McCloy), Hope Atkins (Alan Atkins), Sherri Youngblood (Bill French). Grandchildren Cley McCloy (Alex Telfer), John McCloy, Alexandra McCloy (Nick Poye), Drue McCloy, Lauren McCloy (Joey Keilbarth), Zack Atkins, and Cole Atkins (Mackenzie Teems). Great grandchildren Augustus McCloy Smith, Hayden Hardaway, and Levin O’Callaghan. A memorial service to celebrate Priscilla’s life will be on February 18th, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Second Presbyterian church 600 Pleasant Valley Drive, Little Rock, AR 72227.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests to please make donations to Second Presbyterian Church.
