Newman Ezra McGee, Jr.

Newman E. McGee age 86 of Little Rock passed away on Thursday, September 21,  2023 at Baptist Health Medical Center with family at his side.

He is survived by his wife of almost 66 years, Sue McGee; niece Vicki Crow (Bob) of North Little Rock; nephew Jeff McGee (Dana) of Dardanelle; nephew Phillip Ellis (Judy) of Hot Springs; nephew Steve Ellis (Sharon) of Dallas, TX; nephew Greg Ellis (Brett) of Winnsboro, TX; nephew Rance Claypool (Karen) of Dardanelle; niece Denene Whitecotton (Ricky) of Delaware; niece, Sheila Keats of Greenwood; niece Debi Hafner (Jeff) of Tulsa, OK; nephew Buddy Goates (Terri) of Auburn, AL; niece Tommi Namhie (Kilmer) of Portland, OR and many great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Newman was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Angie “Jackie” (Keeling) McGee; his father, Newman E. “Dick” McGee; two brothers, Jim Ed McGee and Jerry Fred McGee.

Newman, affectionately known as “NE”, “Coach” and “Doc”, was a long-time professor of Health Education at UALR. He loved teaching and helping his ‘kids’ to succeed. He was ‘The Professor’ in Professor Bowl – bowling center and grew his
business into four bowling centers over the years.

Newman loved his ‘Sue baby’ with all his heart. He will be greatly missed.
