Nancy Meeks

Nancy Lee Meeks, age 82, died peacefully at home with family at bedside on August 17,2020.

She was from Mobile Alabama and was a proud student of Murphy High School which is the oldest school in Alabama. Much of Nancy’s family remain in Mobile as part of the community of Trinity Episcopal Church.

Nancy moved to Norman Ar. In Montgomery County in the 1980s with the husband Lonnie Meeks. She was a large part of the community. And was very proud of the work she did as the activities director at Montgomery County Nursing Home. Mostly Nancy was very proud of the funding she obtained to build a new Senior Citizens Center in Mt. Ida.  As director of the center she loved organizing trips to dance, shop, and learn with her seniors.

Nancy's true love was art and could frequently be found drawing, painting, and creating something new. She loved to travel, dance, and just be by the water.  The Gulf of Mexico was the beach she always wanted to visit.

Family was everything to her and she adopted most she met.  She is survived by her daughters Lisa Williams and Donna Minton and her sons Curtis Clark, Richard Fountain, and stepson Randy Meeks.

She is also survived by many grand and great grandchildren who meant the world to her. Nancy's sister's family might as well been hers the way she loved them. Nancy is also survived by many grown children who considered her their second mom.  If you didn’t have anyone Nancy was sure to claim you.

Nancy is predeceased by her loving husband of 35 years, Lonnie Ray Meeks, her son Cristopher Dean Clark, her parents and two sisters, Edna Marie Wilson and Alice Laverne Senne.

There will be no public services at this time.  Nancy will be entered next to her husband with immediate family at the graveside. In memory of Nancy please go the extra mile to include someone that needs a family to sit with.
