Mary Jo Salmon

With broken hearts we share with you that Mary Jo Salmon, aka “Mama Jo,” born September 21, 1950, left us early Tuesday morning, August 29, 2023.

Mama Jo loved so many people but especially close to her heart was her husband Larry, her three boys, Roger, Travis, and Raymond, and her grandchildren. 

Mama Jo loved spending time with her friends and family, and especially to cook and know we enjoyed her food. And, oh, how her joyous laughter would fill the room! 

Mama Jo found much satisfaction in caring for her dogs and cats, which she always had one or two of, growing yard and house plants, and collecting vintage vases. 

Preceded in her death are her parents Mary Fay and Marvin “Shorty” Salmon, her husband Larry “Goose” Garrison, her son Roger Alan Runnells and grandson Connor Thomas Runnells, and brother “Buddy” Salmon.

Survived by her are sons Travis Edward Runnells and his son Jaden Jones, Raymond Bruce Wilson and his daughter Windy Wilson, sister-in-law Kay Salmon and her daughter Tammy Salmon. 

Mary Jo was loved and will be missed by a host of friends and family. The family would like to thank those who have already shown so much love and support.

Relatives and friends are invited to join us in a fundraising memorial celebration of Mary Jo’s life to be held on September 13, 2023, at the White Water Tavern at 4:00 P.M., located at 2500 W 7th St. Little Rock, AR 72205.
