Our beloved mother and wife, Marilyn Betty Upton, 67, went to be with our lord and savior on January 27, 2017, with family and loved ones at her side. She was born on November 19, 1949 to the late Theo and Imogene Hallum. She was a retired nurse who devoted her life to the care of others for over 25 years ending her career in Hospice; choosing to help transition those in their final days. After nursing, Marilyn enjoyed a second career in sales earning numerous awards as top saleswoman year after year. She was a published author of her autobiography, By his Grace, which led many to the lord inspired by her life story. Marilyn was also an inventor and creator of the "MUM" which is an assistive device to aid female incontinence. Her hobbies included shopping, socializing and caring for her family and friends. Her greatest joy was being a Nana to her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Theo and Imogene Hallum, sister Linda McManus and dear husbands John Morgan and Calvin Jones. Marilyn is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, Michael Upton; two daughters, Lori Davis (Steven) and Lisa Maynard, five step-sons, Kris Upton (Karen), Todd Upton (Lily), Jason Upton, Bryan Upton, and Blakey Upton, eight grandchildren, Brandon, Gavin and Coleson Davis; Miles, Nicholas, Payton, Layla and Autumn Upton; three sisters Brenda Austin, Susan Hallum and Tamera Wakefield (Beau) and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends who all loved her and will miss her dearly. Celebration of life will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 10:00am at Sylvan Hill’s Community Church at 8091 Hwy-107, Sherwood, AR, 72120. The family would like to give a special thank you to the doctors and nurses at The Heart Hospital in Little Rock, AR who provided the best care, love and support during her time there.
