Mabry (Mac) Calvin Cox passed away peacefully at his home in Hot Springs Village, AR on January 16, 2025. Mac was born on January 5, 1938 to James E. (Ned) and Rossie Cox in Jayton, Texas.

Mac served as Sergeant in the United States Marine Corp from 1956-1960 and being a Marine was always a great source of pride in his life. After the Marines, he went on to obtain his Associates degree from Cooke County Jr. College, Bachelors and Masters from Texas Tech University, and Doctorate from North Texas University. Mac married Jill in 1988 and they enjoyed 36 years of travel and adventures together.

He was a gifted educator and author. He served as Department Chairman at Cooke County Jr. College and Division Chairman at Amarillo College before retiring to Arkansas. He had an amazing gift for teaching and served as an inspiration and encouragement for many students over the years.

Mac lived life fully with adventure, integrity, faith and a little mischief. His life was never boring, and he enjoyed many different hobbies and activities including being a pilot, serving as Wing Commander in the Civil Air Patrol, rebuilding an airplane in his carport, and playing golf at many of the courses in his beloved Hot Springs Village.

Mac is survived by his wife Jill of Hot Springs Village AR, children Gary/Debbie Cox of Gainesville TX, Sharon/Stuart Carter of Lubbock TX, Joe/Carissa Cox of San Antonio TX, Amy/Robby Collier of Hereford TX, and Paul/Candice Rejda of Tulsa Ok. He has also passed along a rich legacy through numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
