Kimberly Ann Hepworth, 34, of Little Rock, AR, formerly of Springfield, IL, died Tuesday, September 7th, 2010, at the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences after a courageous battle with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. She was born December 28, 1975 in Springfield, IL to Georgia and James Hepworth. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Sunshine and Lawrence Fink, Sr., and Floyd Hepworth; her uncle, Lawrence Fink, Jr.; and her aunt, Linda Hepworth. In addition to her parents, Kim is survived by sister, Katie Dale Spoon of Springfield; grandmother, Mary Catherine Hepworth of Jacksonville; nephews, Jack and Quinn Spoon, and niece, Meredith Spoon; uncle, Bill Chris Hepworth of Elburn, IL; aunts, Jane Larry Foster of Jacksonville and Ann Alan Ditzig of Flower Mound, TX, as well as many loving cousins and extended family. Kim graduated from Springfield Southeast High School in Springfield and attended Lincoln Land Community College. She worked for several companies in the medical transcription field.
Blessed with a voice like no other, Kim’s talents are well known, both on and off stage. She performed, directed and was involved in countless productions in her hometown at the Springfield Theatre Centre, Springfield Muni Opera, Theater in the Park at New Salem, and at the Jacksonville Theatre Guild. In Little Rock she graced the stage in many shows at The Weekend Theater. Plans for a private family memorial service are pending. Family and friends are planning a Celebration of her Life, in Grand Cabaret style, at the Hoogland Center of the Arts in the near future. Her dear friends and second family in Little Rock will also be hosting a Cabaret in her honor at The Weekend Theater.
