Kenneth George Custer passed away on June 2, 2024 at the age of 73 in Little Rock, AR. He was born August 25, 1950 in Livingston, MT. Ken was a beloved husband, loyal friend, and mentor who touched the lives of many with his kindness and encouragement.
In his early years, Ken had a variety of odd jobs, from working with a snow plow crew and fire/rescue truck at Logan International Airport in Billings Mt, to even working as a rodeo clown. Ken was an Army veteran serving in Korea in the 1970’s. He completed his higher education at what is now Montana State University. Ken worked as an insurance claims adjuster in Tulsa, OK and later in Little Rock, AR, where he met the love of his life. In his final years before retirement, Ken worked for ARKUPS.
Ken had a passion for nature photography, reading, woodworking, and gardening. He was an accomplished guitarist who loved many genres of music.
Ken is survived by his son Badiullah “Badi” D. Galinkin, his brothers Robert “Bob” J. Custer and Zachariah Custer, stepsisters Kim Paxinos and Judy Clucas, stepsons Douglas and Timothy Brass, and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Phyllis Kay Brass, his father Claude C. Custer, his mother Emma E. Sasse Custer, and his brother John F. “Jackie” Custer.
A Memorial Service to honor Ken will be held on Saturday June 22, 2024, 11:30 am at St. Matthews Episcopal Church Fellowship Hall, 1112 Alcoa Road, Benton, AR 72015. Luncheon will be served afterwards.
