Joseph William Story, Jr, born in Louisville, Kentucky on November 5, 1939, passed away on May 2, 2016. Joe had been a long time resident of Little Rock, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph W. and Thelma Gray Story; and brother, Charles R. Story, Sr.
He is survived by a brother, Thomas E. Story; sister, Linda Gray Story; sister-in-law, Muffin Meyer Story; nieces and nephews; and other loving family and cherished friends.
Joe retired as Executive of Dillard’s Inc. He also served on Board of Directors for Sisters of St. Benedict in Ferdinand, Indiana.
Joe was truly loyal, clever, world traveler, avid reader, and loved cooking and entertaining in his home. He had a passion for plants and animals. Joe was tough as nails, with a heart of gold. His death left a void for all those who loved and respected this unique soul.
The family would like to thank Dr. Kenneth Morgan Sauer for his loving care and devoted friendship.
Interment will take place in Louisville, Kentucky. Memorials may be made to: Sisters of St. Benedict, Ferdinand, Indiana 47532; American Cancer Society; or any organization of your choice that cares for animals.
