John Hogan

On Sunday, July 25, 2021, John Brian Hogan, born in Little Rock Arkansas on November 4, 1956, passed away at the age of 64.

If a successful life is measured by the love, compassion, generosity and caring that we show others, especially those in need, then Brian’s was a life well lived.  He was a strong man, so funny, opinionated and passionate. He truly loved and fought courageously for the equal rights of everyone. Through his example, he taught and created generational love and compassion for all.

After graduating from Raleigh Egypt High School, Memphis Tennessee in 1974, Brian set out on a path to fulfill his dream of being in the Fashion Industry. He graduated from the Atlanta Art Institute and immediately set his sights on New York City. There is where he met a wonderfully talented fashion designer, Vivienne Tam who shared his lifelong love of fashion and design.  Brian would work with Vivienne for almost three decades.  He was a talented artist with a passion for creating beauty.

After a long and successful career, Brian retired and eventually returned home to Little Rock and spent the remainder of his life with friends and family. He passed away immersed in the love of his family, holding the hand of his best friend and sister Lisa, with the happy thought of being reunited with his partner Tony and his rescued constant companion Baby Girl. He will be greatly missed, and his life will be fondly remembered by all that knew him.

Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ann Hogan and his partner Tony Casals.  He is survived by his brother Scott Hogan of Little Rock and his brother Kevin Hogan and wife Barbara of Dallas; his sister Lisa Hanshew and husband Deen of Little Rock; nephews Jeff Holiman, Jason Holiman and Arrin Hogan; nieces Becky McIver, Kate Hogan and Liz Hogan and cousins Jan Hill and Mike Hogan.
