Jim “Jimmy” Thurman, late of Malvern, Arkansas, passed away on January 15,
2022, at CHI St. Vincent after a battle with pneumonia.
Jimmy was born on January 30, 1960, in Compton, California. Known for his
kindness and willingness to help others, he loved to be with his family, and
particularly treasured going on fishing trips with his grandchildren, who were
his pride and joy. Jimmy could often be found working with his hands, and
enjoyed repairing old clocks and building machinery. He also had quite the
green thumb, delighting in raising roses and a variety of flowers.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Angela Thurman; his children Steven and Rachel
Thurman, Misty Thurman, Jay Tanner, Ricky and Linda Baldwin, Randy
Lewallen, Robert Lewallen, Jesse Lewallen, Bobbie Joe Lewallen, and Gina and
Louis Millwood; his grandchildren Ethan Aaron and Andrew Millwood, Joseph
Liberoth, Damion and Stephanie Thurma, Heather Travis Nokia Rowland, Derry
Thurman, Sierra Bowman, Ricky Baldwin III, Asher Baldwin, Trinity Lewallen,
Randy Lewallen III, Angela Collins, Caiden James, Jupiter Baldwin, Brently
Beasley, Jayson Beasley, Grace Lynn Beasley, Gabriel Lewallen, Alayna Clayton,
and Noah Pate; and his siblings DW Thurman, Frank (Arlene) Thurman, Charles
(Lorena) Thurman, and Ruby Williams. He was preceded in death by his
parents, DW and Ruby Thurman; his son Randall Lewallen; his grandson
Zachary Travis; and his sister Rosie Standford.
A celebration of Jimmy’s life and a potluck dinner in his memory will be held on
January 29 at 3pm at 1235 South Main Street in Malvern.
