Jean Marie Greene

Jean Greene, 97, of Hot Springs, Arkansas died November 13,2024. Jean joins in heaven her beloved husband Holmes Greene, who died in 2006. She is predeceased by her parents, Lysle and Fern Weeks of Kansas City, three brothers and their wives, and her daughter-in-law, Roxanna Greene. She is survived by her sons Michael Greene (Amy) of Midland, MI, and Jim Greene (Virginia), of Hot Springs, AR; grandchildren, Jodi Alvord (Jason), of Saginaw, MI, Thad Greene, of Baltimore, MD, and Rob (Kelli) Greene of Fresno, CA, and greatgrandchildren, Nolan and Maddux Greene, of Fresno, CA, and her dogs Benji and Angel.

Jean was born in Independence, MO. She met Holmes in Kansas City, and they were married for fifty-nine years. They raised their sons, and had a wonderful time dancing, playing golf, boating, and being active in their church. There was nothing Jean could not do, she was an avid gardener, a respected golfer, a fabulous cook, an organist and an award-winning quilter. She loved her Lord and worshipped Him her entire life.

Jean and Holmes raised their family in Raytown, Missouri, and later moved to the Lake of the Ozarks. Eventually they moved to Midland, Michigan to be near their son Mike and his family. After Holmes’s death, Jean moved to Hot Springs, Arkansas, to start a new life near her son Jim. She joined Women’s Welcome Club in Hot Springs, made many new friends, and played bridge often.

Late in life she was home-bound and had wonderful caretakers. A heartfelt thank you to these women for their love and dedication to her. A memorial service will be held for Jean in the next few weeks.
