James Phipps

James Alan Phipps, known as Jim or Pops, age 64, of Cabot, Arkansas, died Monday, April 5, 2021 due to complications of Covid-19.

Jim was born December 18th, 1956 in Newton, Iowa. Jim served in the US Army for three years and was honorably discharged in 1980, receiving the Sharpshooter Badge for M16 Rifle and Good Conduct Medal. Jim was an amazing cook and had a long career in the Food Service industry. Jim attended The Assembly of Cabot.

Jim was a loving and devoted husband, dad, son and Pops.  Jim is survived by his wife, Kathy of 39 ½ years; his children Jessica (Kevin) Martin of Searcy, Jennifer (Owen) Brugh of Chicago, Jackie (James) Caldwell of Jacksonville, and Kristofer (Sarah) Phipps of Austin; his parents Doris and Jack Phipps of Kellog, IA; his siblings Michael (Rita) Phipps of New Jersey, Terri (Daniel) Sheil, Richard (Cheri) Phipps, Melodee (Jeff) Smith of Iowa, and Jack Jr (Sarah) Phipps of TN; and nine grandchildren he loved dearly. Jim was preceded in death by his biological dad,  Jim Jenkins of Lincoln, Nebraska, grandparents, Clarence (Teddy) and Vernell Stone of Newton, IA, and Glen and Naomi Phipps of Kellogg, IA.

A memorial service is planned for 2 pm Saturday, April 10, 2021 at The Assembly of Cabot.

The family asks that everyone wear masks at all times, use hand sanitizer as needed, and please observe the distance requirements.
