James Patrick Holmes

March 17, 1961 — February 29, 2024

Hot Springs, Arkansas

James Patrick Holmes, "Jimpat" as his close friends knew him, was born on March 17, 1961 aka.St. Patricks Day, to Floyd and Mary Ida Holmes.
He went to be with the Lord on February 29, 2024 after a long, hard battle with cancer. He left behind the love of his life, Jessica Maynard. He also left behind two beautiful daughters Cheyann and Michaela Holmes and two sons, Andrew Maynard and Tyler Maynard, and his grandchildren Zay Nutt, Caydynce Nutt, Mikinzy Nutt and Ella Hawk Holmes. He is also survived by his brother, Joe Holmes and special nephew Casey Holmes.
Jimpat was such a jokester, he was always laughing or trying to make someone smile. He never met a stranger, always making new friends. He always had a story to tell, no matter how many times you had already heard it.
He loved his children and grandchildren and it thrilled him to see them smile. He was always the "life of the party". Never did you hear a bad word about him. He was loved by everyone who knew him.
Jimpat was, as some have called him, a woodsman. He had a natural talent for anything that grew the color green,  Outside is where he spent most of his free time, as he would say "in the bush".  He was always either hunting, fishing, or planting his gardens. There wasnt much he couldn't do, and definitely nothing he hadn't tried.
He is already missed by all of his family and friends..
He is precedeed in death by his parents Floyd and Mary Ida(Tim) Holmes, his son, James Michael Hawk Holmes, and two brothers, Jack Holmes and Bill Holmes.
He attended Hot Springs High School, and was a brick mason by trade.
Jimpat was a Christian above all.  He loved all the new friends he had made at church. He proudly called Lakeview Assembly of God his church.
A memorial service will be announced with the date and times. Matt Stevenson will be officiating.
