James Daniel Comras, born January 15, 1957, died on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock, Arkansas.
He is survived by his father, Peter; step mother, Myrna; and brothers, Darren and Bryan; nephews, Peter O’Brien and Miles; many aunts, uncles and cousins from Charlottesville, Virginia. He is also survived by the love of his life, Mary Comras and Rascal, his dog.
Preceded him in death was his mother, Margaret Gail Harlow; and sister, Carol Ann O’Brien.
He was born at Fort McClellan in Anniston, Alabama and as an Army Brat he moved to Massachusetts, then to France, and then to back to Charlottesville, Virginia, where he resided until after graduation from Lane High School in 1974, and he then went on to attend Piedmont Virginia Community College in 1975.
Shortly thereafter he travelled to Minnesota, then to Key West, Florida, during this time he worked at several restaurants as a chef. He moved to Arkansas in 1983 and worked in the Warehousing Industry. His last place of employment was Educators Book Depository.
He will be remembered as a Christian first, and a friend second. Upon meeting someone he would quote John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life".
He loved music and played guitar and the drums. He also enjoyed fishing. He was a good man and will be missed by many.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m., October 23, 2016, at 65th Street Baptist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas, with Pastor Joel Grenier officiating.
