Herman Leopard, 82, of Rison, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at his home with his devoted wife, Denise and son, Clayton, near his side. He was born August 30, 1936 in Cleveland County, a son of the late Julius J. Leopard and Lucy M. Lunsford Leopard. He enjoyed his work as a welder at Central Maloney in Pine Bluff, retiring in 1999 after 42 years. He was later employed at the Cleveland County School District, working alongside his wife for 8 years before retiring. Mr. Leopard was a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Herman was an avid fisherman, hunter and loved the Arkansas Razorbacks. He and his wife, Denise, were members of the square dancing clubs, Shirts & Skirts in Pine Bluff and the Delta Squares in Dumas. They traveled extensively square dancing around Arkansas. He loved his family with his whole heart and he and his wife were always enjoying great family time.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one daughter, Vickie Elaine Leopard and one son, Jeffery Dearl Leopard; three brothers, James (Syber) Leopard, Raymond Leopard and Almus Leopard and one sister, Ola Mae Bowlin. Herman was survived by his wife of 29 years, Denise Leopard, whom he married on March 30, 1990; and children, daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Tracy Johnson of Little Rock, daughter, DeAnn Price of Bryant, son and daughter-in-law, Clayton & Braylin Dennis of Blytheville; one brother and sister-in-law, Jesse and Joy Leopard of Little Rock, a sister-in-law, Kathleen Leopard of Vilonia; six grandchildren, Laura, Shawn, Katie, Justin, Jett, Levi and two great grandchildren. A special thanks goes to Arkansas Hospice employees Morgan Keaton, Tammy Poss, Melissa Murdock and Amy Luker for the tender care given to Herman.
A graveside memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Greenwood Cemetery on Mt. Elba Rd., Rison, AR with Bro. David Leopard officiating. Memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice, 1301 Ridgeway Rd., Suite 2A, Pine Bluff, AR 71603. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Arkansas Cremation with a special thanks to Dana.
