On the evening of May 16, 2018, Glenda Faye (Hornburg) Tucker, 69, passed away after a seven year battle with cancer.
Mrs. Tucker was born in Gideon, MO, attended High School in New Madrid, MO, and had retired in April 2018 from New Madrid Living Center. Mrs. Tucker graduated Magna Cum Laude from Southeast Missouri State University with a double major in Criminology & Sociology, spent many years as the bar and grill manager of Rosie’s in New Madrid and her own restaurant in Marston, Trails End Saloon. She very much loved to spend time with her grandchildren and mini-poodle, Dusty.
She had a great many friends who loved her for her sense of humor and honest nature. A natural care-taker, Mrs. Tucker excelled at her career working with the elderly and spent her free time reading, doing many types of art projects, decorating, shopping with her daughter, and enjoying her evenings at home with her husband.
As a young adult, Mrs. Tucker played violin for the Indiana Philharmonic before relocating to St. Louis for a short period, prior to her family settling in Southeast Missouri.
Surviving family members include her husband of 42 years, Charles Tucker; her son and daughter-in-law, Reif and Jamie Tucker of Vilonia, AR; her daughter and son-in-law, Charlie and Amanda Owens of N. Little Rock, AR; grandchildren, Kaitlyn (16), Sidney (13),Wyatt (11), Bella (8), Rylan (8), Reese (6), & Hunter (5); as well as her siblings, Deborah Recker, Victor Hornburg, and R. Vaughn Hornburg.
Preceding her death were William and Ila Faye Hornburg, parents, W. Bill Hornburg, and a brother.
Mrs. Tucker chose to be cremated and laid to rest at the foot of her parent’s grave in Portageville, MO.
The family is inviting all who would like to celebrate her life to a graveside memorial service at 1pm Sunday, June 10, 2018, followed by a catered lunch hosted by her sister, Debbie.
