Gayle R. (Rainwater) Jackson

June 20, 1946 — April 11, 2025

Hot Springs, Arkansas

On April 11, 2025, our beloved Gayle Rainwater Jackson peacefully transitioned to what was, is, and will be. She, and we, are at peace in the Blessed, indeed Greater, Hope, and assurance of the simple, yet transcendent, long-ago testimony of Grandpa Hartwell Jackson at that old, country church:

"Praise the Lord, forever!"

So it was. So it is. So it shall be.

Gayle was born in Little Rock, AR on June 20,1946 to Shirley and Justin Rainwater, deceased. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Cliff Jackson, Hot Springs, AR & Austin, TX; her beloved daughters, Heather Jackson, Frisco, TX, & Ashley Layne Jackson (Dan Valle), Austin, TX; one grand-child, Elysia Valle Jackson, Austin, TX, the joy of her latter days; a sister, Suzanne Jenkins, Houston, TX; her doggie son, Rascal, kitty son, Ernie, and many other family and friends.

Gayle worked as a court reporter, legal secretary, administrator for the Arkansas Supreme Court, then a stay-at-home mom. She devoted much time and energy to her family at Legacy Church, teaching children's Sunday School and leading Women’s Ministry, among other things. She also enjoyed quilting, reading, and watching detective shows and hummingbirds.

Special thanks to doctors and nurses at CHI St. Vincent, Genesis Cancer Center, and Encore Rehab for their kindness, support, and loving care.

As Cliff always told her, "Gayle, you are a good woman, and a good woman is hard to find."

And sometimes Cliff would say, "And a good man? Impossible!"

And so she was: a good woman!

Remembrance will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 15 at Legacy Church, Hot Springs, preceded by a 30-minute visitation at 9:30 a.m. Please: No flowers. Internment of ashes will be at later date at Antioch Cemetery in Hot Spring County.
