Hot Springs Village, Arkansas

Fay Carol Gross peacefully entered heaven on Good Friday, April 10, 2020.

Fay was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to Eugene and Elizabeth Jamison.  She was an only child.  She graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio with a Fine Arts degree.

Fay married Frank Richard “Dick” Gross on June 18, 1955.  They adopted two children, Kevin and Kelly.  They lived in Columbus, Ohio then Cincinnati, Ohio before moving to Whittier, California in 1969.

In 1972, the family moved to Houston, Texas, but in 1973 they relocated to Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  In 1976, the family moved to The Woodlands, Texas where they resided until Dick’s retirement.  In 1996, Fay and Dick built their dream home in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas on Lake Balboa and enjoyed their lives there fully.

Fay liked to golf and scored for the golfers in the PGA tournaments that were held in The Woodlands.  She and Dick also enjoyed being a part of a golf scramble group in Hot Springs Village. She volunteered at the hospital, participated in Garden Club, attended the Methodist church, and loved to entertain.  She was a wonderful cook and decorated each of her homes beautifully.  She painted with watercolors and oils, and designed and made stained glass windows.  She also created flower arrangements, ceramic projects, and could sew and do needlepoint. She enjoyed playing Bridge with various groups as well.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years; her son, Kevin Gross of Pawcatuck, Connecticut and his wife Diane; her daughter Kelly Gross Hitt of Frisco, Texas and her husband Alan Hitt; grandchildren James, Emily, Mary, Jodi, and Dylan; and great-grandchildren Olivia and Ezra.

Fay was a beautiful and friendly person who enjoyed gathering with friends and family.  She spent the past 2 years in Texas with her daughter while suffering with Lewy Body dementia but was able to return to her home in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas for the last three months of her life.  She loved to look out over the lake at the beautiful surroundings.

A memorial service will be scheduled in the future at Christ of the Hills United Methodist Church, Hot Springs Village.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Lewy Body Dementia Association at LBDA.org.
